Dear Guests:
After you've
visited our church and met our people, we hope
you'll seriously consider joining Middlebrook
Pike United Methodist Church. Our church family
here on the corner of Middlebrook Pike and
Vanosdale can always use more good people to
help carry out God's work here in Knoxville, the
East Tennessee region, and around the world!
Joining is
easy. You may do this in one of the four ways
described to the right. Call today! Operators
are standing by!

Open hearts, doors, and minds! |
|

I believe we should all play nicely together.
I believe every human being has the
potential to change the world.
I believe sometimes it's hard to believe
in anything.
I believe we make life harder than it's
supposed to be.
I believe God talks to us everyday, if we
listen. |

When You're Ready to Join |
|
By
Profession of Faith and Baptism
If you have not been
baptized and you would like to confess Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Pastor
will be glad to discuss this decision with
you in your home or his office at your
convenience.
If you have been baptized,
but you have never had membership in the
Church, you may be confirmed as a full
member, professing your faith in Jesus
Christ.
By Transfer
from Another United Methodist Church
Simply call the office at
865-690-8641 or send an e-mail to the
Pastor to let him know of
your interest in joining. The Pastor will
then get in touch with you. Or you may ask
him, "Please write for my letter." It is not
necessary for you to write your former
church. MPUMC will handle the details of the
transfer for you.
By Transfer from Another Christian
Denomination
This process is very much
like the one above. Since you have already
been baptized and confirmed, these steps
will not be repeated. You will be asked to
take the one vow taken by all members of the
United Methodist Church:
"Will you be loyal to the
United Methodist Church and uphold it with
your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and
your service?"
By Transfer From a Denomination That Will Not
Accept
Transfers Across Denominational Lines
Your baptism is accepted.
You will be received by transfer without the
letter. See page 38 of the Methodist
Hymnal.
