From the Music Director
Did you ever sing in a
choir? Did you ever think you might like to? Would
you like to give it a try for a while without making
a long-term commitment? Well, this one's for you!
We
will soon begin work on our Christmas cantata. It is
entitled "Emmanuel, God With Us." I have
used this work in two other churches and it has been
enjoyed by those who sang it and those who heard it.
The music is not difficult, but is well written and
challenging enough to require some effort.
We will
introduce this work to the choirs (and any others who
would like to come) on Sunday afternoon, September
20 at 6:30. We will listen to a recording (possibly
watch a video of a live performance) of the work, so
as to see and hear what we will be working one. Following
that session we will have an ice cream party and a
time of fellowship.
Everyone is invited to this session
with no obligation to commit beyond it. Obviously we
hope that some folks who have not been singing in choirs
will join us and will want to participate in the Christmas
program. If you have questions please call me (475-5430)
and I'll be glad to answer them. We'd love to have
you.
PS to choir members who have been "out of
pocket" for a while: We’ve been missing you and
hope you can be back soon.
